CHAMBER OF COMMERCE

Referrals – We receive hundreds of calls per week from people who need referrals. We refer ONLY our members. Our membership listing is located on the web at www.usachamber.com/neosho/

We also offer a free web link from our website to any member’s site.

Networking – There are numerous opportunities for members to meet one another. We believe that people like doing business with people they know. The first Friday of every month, a member hosts "First Friday Coffee" and once a quarter a different member hosts "Business After Hours" at their place of business. All members are invited to attend both events. These are both great opportunities to meet and greet each other, exchange business cards and enjoy the fellowship in a relaxed atmosphere. Also, the Chamber holds a general membership luncheon once a quarter, with an Annual Banquet each November.

Education –The Chamber often coordinates educational workshops or seminars. Members have access to them at little or no cost. The Chamber always encourages suggestions for possible topics or programs.

Legislation – The Chamber and the Neosho Economic Development Department, directed by Gilbert Garrow, is an excellent source of information about legislative issues affecting our area. Acting as a liaison for business, the Chamber of Commerce has on-going contact with State Legislators and is often a sounding board for its members. An "Eggs & Issues" breakfast is also held to give members an opportunity to ask questions of their government representatives. A "Chamber Day at the Capitol" is planned for members to meet at the State Capitol and lobby legislators.

Community Involvement – There are many Chamber committees that any employee of a Chamber member can attend and join. Participation is voluntary, but encouraged.

Publicity/Exposure – All members are listed both alphabetically and categorically in the Chamber’s annual membership directory. The directory is given to new residents of Neosho and at the beginning of the school year to each Crowder College student in the residence halls. Local hotels and motels have directories available in their rooms. Also, all new members are encouraged to have a Chamber Welcome to be welcomed at their place of business by other Chamber members. The local news media covers these events.

Lists and Labels – Only Chamber members have access to the complete membership directory with contact names at no charge. Mailing labels are available for a minimal charge.

Mission Statement – The mission of the Neosho Area Chamber of Commerce is to assume a leadership role in advancing the overall business, cultural and civic welfare of the Neosho area.
