DESCRIPTION:The Crowder College History Symposium presents\, award winning author and historian\, Dr. Elliott West! His lecture\, "The West Before the Lewis and Clark Expedition: Three Lives" will kick off the speaker series September 14 at 6pm in the Wright Conference Center (601 Laclede Ave.\, Neosho\, MO 64850).\n\n \n\nDr. West is a two-time President of the Western History Association and has published extensively on the history of the American West and the Age of Expansion. He has authored titles such as The Saloon on the Rocky Mountain Mining Frontier\, The Contested Plains\, Continental Reckoning\, The Last Indian War: The Nez Perce Story\, and a host of other titles. His books have won exceptional awards\, including the Francis Parkman Prize\, and the Ray Allen Billington Prize.
